Marjorie M. Parker, 78, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a battle with cancer.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Valerie Heller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

Marjorie was born Sept. 19, 1929, in Tyndall, S.D., the daughter of Charles and Anna (Carda) Turek. She was raised and attended school in Tyndall, moving to Sioux City in the spring of 1945.
She met and married Hartley O. Parker on March 20, 1946, in Sioux City. She was a longtime worker at Wincharger, Dyna Tech, was a waitress at several Sioux City restaurants and was the co-owner of Parker's Perfect Janitor Service.
Marjorie loved working in her garden and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Dan (Mary) Parker of Sioux City; two daughters, Diane Beagle and Ruth (Mark) Parker, all of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Shelli (Ryan) Baxter, Sherri (Jason) Ross, Jody (Steve) Westly, Jennifer (Bob) Hamman, Misty (Tony) Underwood and Kelly (Alysa) Belew; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hedy Zook of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be David Wright, John Wright, Jason Ross, Bob Hamman, Steve Westly and Tony Underwood. Honorary pallbearer will be Kelly Belew.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Siouxland or Mercy Medical Center.
