Mark Allen Eastling

July 6, 1957 — January 16, 2008

Mark Allen Eastling, 50, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Riverside Lutheran Church, with Pastor Charles Wolff officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel.

Mark was born July 6, 1957, in Sioux City to Chester "Bill" and Leonora (Fravel) Eastling. He was a lifelong Riverside area resident. He grew up and attended Sioux City schools and graduated from West High School in 1975. He later became an apprentice with the sheet metal workers in Sioux City, rising to the class of journeyman. He was also a member of the Sheet Metal Local 3 Union in Sioux City. He was employed with Fabricators, Metal Specialists and currently employed with Purina Feeds in the maintenance department.

Mark was of the Lutheran faith. He always enjoyed riding motorcycles, gatherings with family and close friends, good conversation and food, fishing, hunting, racing, race cars, music, working out, collecting guns, working and enjoyed life.

Survivors include a son, Clint Eastling and special friend, Melissa Silvers of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Jonni and Chad Maaske of Jefferson, S.D.; his parents; a sister, Billie and Terry Pomerenke of Sergeant Bluff; and three nieces, Teryn, Shelby and Kelsie Pomerenke, all of Sergeant Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
