Mary N. Aboud (Nasra)

Mary N. Aboud, 86, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Mary N. Nasra was born Oct. 20, 1921, to George and Afife (Hasbun) Nasra in Bethlehem, Palestine. She attended and graduated from high school in Cienaga, Colombia, South America.

She and James H. Aboud were married on Aug. 5, 1951, in Colombia, South America. In 1953, the couple moved to the Sioux City area. She was a seamstress, working out of her own home.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include her son, Joseph of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Vicky and George Skuodas of Crete, Neb.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Mike Samek and David and Nancy Skuodas; two great-grandchildren, Tate and Myah Samek; and brothers and sisters in Columbia, South America.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James in 1978.
