SIOUX CITY -- Mary Elizabeth Bowers, 87, of Gardendale, Ala., formerly of Sioux City, died Dec. 13, 2009, in Gardendale.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Botic officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at christysmith.com.
Mary was born on April 23, 1922, to Garret and LoNette (Schyler) Davelaar in Sioux City. She worked in accounting and managed a sales staff for several companies. She was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star No. 5020ES. While living in Sioux City, she belonged to Morningside Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Bowers (they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10) as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jeri Gordon; and two brothers, Don and Lou Gordon.
