Mary Drevs, 90, of Moville, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at a local hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, with the Rev. Bradley Pelzel officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery at Moville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are with McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Mary was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Sioux City, to Frank W. and Ruth (Pridie) Shay. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1944.
Mary married Robert "Bob" Drevs on Feb. 12, 1949.
Mary was a CCD teacher. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society, Meadows Golf Course and the Berry Patch Dancers of Moville.
She enjoyed her puzzles, gardening and canning, sewing, fishing, camping and golfing. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Terri (Joe) Wachter of Hubbard, Neb., Jeane Drevs of Greeley, Colo., and Kathy Drevs of Moville; her sons, Francis (Jeanette) Drevs of Ida Grove, Iowa, Patrick Drevs of Lake Park, Iowa, and Thomas (Kathleen) Drevs of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Scott Rice, Christian Drevs, Sean Drevs, Staci Danielsen, Amanda Campbell, Samantha Whiteley, Caitlin Drevs and Sarah Sample; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rosemary; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Jim, Pat and John Shay; sister, Ruth Lambert; three sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law
