SIOUX CITY | Mary Jane Mickey, 95, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Holy Spirit Retirement. Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mary Jane was born on Dec. 4, 1916, in Douglas, Wyo., to Frank and Vernina (Larr) Paul. She attended Central High School in Sioux City.
She married Edward C. Mickey on Oct. 22, 1933.
She was a longtime member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, Morningside Eastern Star and Carpenter's Auxiliary. She had an uncanny devotion to her family. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, square dancing, sewing, refinishing furniture, and cooking. Music was her favorite enjoyment. Her dogs were always treated like her children.
Survivors include a daughter and her companion, Charlene Mickey and Lewis Meyer of Sergeant Bluff; a son, Murl Mickey of Omaha; granddaughters, Deidre, and Katie Faith Mickey; and a daughter-in-law, Angie Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Helen Moss.
