Mary Louise Speckhart

Mary L. Speckhart, 88, lifelong resident of Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at a local hospital.
There will be no services. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Mary was born on Feb. 9, 1927, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ralph and Peggy (Alchin) Lembckr. She attended school in Sioux City, graduating from East High School.
Mary continued her education, and after graduating from Morningside College in 1948, she married Robert Speckhart. Mary taught school for more than 34 years, retiring in 1988.
Mary was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Steve) Sheppard of Bedford, Texas; a brother, Robert (Mary Lou) Lembcke of Green Valley, Ariz.; five cousins living in various areas of the country; two nieces; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert.
