Marylou Ann Jorgensen, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Michael Awe officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Marylou was born in Sioux City, on April 2, 1929, the daughter of Ben and Beulah (Austin) Cain. She attended Sioux City Community Schools.
She was united in marriage with Charles Warren Jorgensen on Jan. 21,1949 in Sioux City. Mr. Jorgensen preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2001 in Sioux City. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. Marylou worked for Johnson Biscuit/Innerbake Foods for more than 33 years, retiring in 1991.
She was known as the Corn Lady of Morningside for the past 15 years. She was a member of the local Bakers Union.
Her life will always be remembered by her daughters, Linda Olsen and her husband, Randy, Brenda Jorgensen-Kellogg, and Lucinda Barnes and her husband, Terry, all of Sioux City; her four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Cain of Sioux City, and Leo Cain of Decatur, Ill.; and a sister, Rosemarie Underwood of Sergeant Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law, Tom; two brothers, Raymond Cain and LeRoy Cain; and two sisters-in-law, both named Virginia Cain.
