Sioux City - MaryPat Kiertzner, 91, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Touchstone Living Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nativity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Steven McLoud officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
She was born March 17, 1922, in Sioux City, to Carl and Marcella (Donahue) Ludwig. She grew up in the Cecilia Park area of Morningside.
MaryPat married Earl F. Kiertzner on Dec. 31, 1940, in Ponca, Neb.
She was a seamstress at Younkers and J.C. Penney's, worked the candy counter at Younkers-Davidson's, and was an operator for Ma Bell. She later volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She enjoyed golfing and had several holes-in-one. Later in life, MaryPat and Earl enjoyed wintering in Vallejo, Calif., with family. Spiritual life was very important to her, as was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Earl A. (Judy) Kiertzner of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandsons, Kurtis (Tonya) Kiertzner and Earl "Butch" (Christine) Kiertzner; and great-grandchildren, Nicole (Robert) Auringer, Earl C. Kiertzner, Kareena Kiertzner, Shayla Kiertzner and Kallee Kiertzner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Dot Jones; brother, Carl Ludwig Jr.; and infant sister, Rose Laverne Ludwig.
