Maureen Haire

Maureen A. Haire, 59, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer at a local hospital. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 2 at 10:00 AM at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 2320 Outer Drive N. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.christysmith.com .
Maureen was born on January 31, 1958 in Sioux City, IA to Robert and Mary (Mertes) McBride. She graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1976. She served in the United Stated Air force for 6 years before being honorably discharged. Maureen was united in marriage to Mike Haire on October 29, 1983 in Elk Point, SD. She worked as a Lab Tech for Interbake foods for 26 years and then later at Gelita from 2009 until her illness led her to leave in 2012. She enjoyed reading, movies, eating at Red Lobster, and celebrating her favorite holiday, Halloween. She loved spending time with her furbaby dogs, friends and family, and especially her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband Mike of Sioux City; children: Jason (Nicki) Haire, Sioux City, Marissa (Chad Klink) Haire, Sioux City, Michael James Haire, Sioux City; grandkids: Jason Haire JR, Araya Haire, Heaven Schumacher, Serenity Schumacher (Candace Klink and Caylee Klink); brothers: Michael, Timothy, and Philip McBride; sisters: Mary McBride, Judith Funke, Shawn Pyles; brother-in-law’s: Steven Haire and Ricky Haire; sister-in-law’s: Linda Brown and Nancy McFarland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Brian, Robert, and Patrick McBride.
