Maurice Emil Redshaw

Maurice Emil Redshaw, 82, of Sioux City died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Countryside Retirement Center.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .

Maurice was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Fonda, Iowa, to John and Clara (Weidauer) Redshaw. He attended school and graduated from Fonda High School in 1943. After his service in the U.S. Navy, he attended and graduated from the University of Iowa. After college, he moved to Sioux City where he was an accountant for 48 years.

He married Glenna Brenden in Sioux City on June 16, 1951.

He had been a member of Morningside Lutheran Church since 1985 and a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He was a former member of Morningside Country Club, the Jaycees and the Siouxland Lutheran Men.

He is survived by his wife, Glenna Marie (Brenden) Redshaw; a daughter, Leanne and Steve Fisher of Ponca, Neb.; two sons, Brian and Genene Redshaw of Hibbing, Minn., and Galen and Carol Redshaw of Johnston, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Peder and Sara Fisher, Alana Schweiger, James and Graham Redshaw, Laurie Hurst, Brenden, Cameron and Brooke Redshaw; and two great-grandchildren, Natasha Heath and Hope Schweiger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Carroll, John and Earl Redshaw; a sister, Dorothy Halvorsen; and a grandchild, Steven Paul Fisher.
