Merle Henrietta Potts (Misfieldt)

SIOUX CITY -- Merle H. Potts, 96, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.
Services will be 7 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be one hour prior to service today at the funeral home.
Merle was born April 5, 1915, in Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Martena (Daugaard) Misfieldt. She worked for the Woodbury County Treasurers Office for more than 20 years, retiring in 1986.
Merle was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for many years. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed gardening, tending to her violets, golfing, playing bridge with several card clubs and having Sunday dinners with her son.
She is survived by her son, Doug Potts of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Violet Misfieldt, Alice Rude, Mable Blackman, Doris Hubbard and Earnest Misfield.
