Merrilee P. Hallowell, 63, of Sioux City died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Embassy Rehab in Sergeant Bluff.
There will be a private funeral service and burial. Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Merrilee was born May 5, 1952, in Sioux City, the daughter of Samuel C. and Elizabeth (Sas) Hallowell. Throughout Merrilee’s life, she lived in the Siouxland area.
She enjoyed when people would read to her. Merrilee also liked looking at books, all kinds of music, working with construction paper, and going on outings to parks and other places.
Survivors include her father, Samuel C. Hallowell of Holly Springs, Iowa; two brothers, Samuel T. (Genise) Hallowell of Bronson, Iowa, and Dick (Jeanne) Hallowell of Smithland, Iowa; two sisters, Ida (Don) Anderson of Concord, Neb., and Rebecca Noel of Sioux City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth.
