Michael A. Christiansen

Michael Christiansen, 63, of Boone, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at a Fort Dodge, Iowa hospital.
Services will be noon Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Michael was born on Feb. 16, 1952, in Sioux City, to Alvin and Betty (Durigan) Christiansen. He graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School and from Iowa State University. After he graduated from college, he stayed in Ames, Iowa. Twelve years ago, he moved to Boone. He worked for more than 20 years as a caretaker in an animal science lab for the federal government in Ames.
Michael enjoyed working at the library, his Bible studies, shopping at the Goodwill, and visiting and talking to people.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Peggy Christiansen; and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
