SIOUX CITY -- Michael Christopher Pearson, 57, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at his home.
A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. William Vit will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 6 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Mike was born May 31,1954, and was raised in the Morningside area of Sioux City. He was the son of Paul and Rose (Corio) Pearson. He went to Hayworth Junior High and graduated from East High School in 1972. He then attended junior college and then Morningside College, where he graduated suma cum laude with a double major in business and economics. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975. He moved to Texas for a few years and then returned to Sioux City. Mike struggled with illness during most of his adult life.
He was known for his sense of humor and his photographic memory. He would never forget anyone's birthday or anniversary. Mike was a most kind and giving person. He especially loved his nieces and nephews. Mike gave his total faith and trust to his savior, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by two sisters and four brothers, Mary (Tim) Tiefenthaler of Red Oak, Iowa, Lisa Pearson of Sioux City, Paul (Susan) Pearson Jr. of Homer Glen, Ill., John Pearson and Lori Kline of Flower Mound, Texas, David (Cynthia) Pearson of Dallas, Texas, and Eugene (Kari) Pearson of Flower Mound; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rose Pearson; and his grandparents, John and Grace Pearson, and John and Antonia Corio.
The family wishes to thank the Siouxland Residential Family for all the love and care they gave to Mike throughout his life.
