Mildred C. Wright, 94, of Kingsley, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Kingsley Specialty Care.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moville United Methodist Church, 450 First St., in Moville, Iowa, with the Rev. Janet Reickhoff-Faris officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville. Mildred was born in rural Plymouth County, Iowa, to Frank and Sally (Gregory) Flewelling, on Oct. 15, 1921. She lived within 30 miles of where she was born all her life.
Mildred married Thomas Wright on April 21, 1940, in Dakota City. She was a homemaker and worked at Swift & Co., Hunting Turkey Farms, Rob Ross and Woodbury County Assessor. After Tom got sick, she took over the farm operations.
Mildred was a member of Moville United Methodist Church. She was active with United Methodist Women, TOPS, and Mended Hearts. She was a 4-H and Cub Scout leader. She loved gardening and raising beautiful flowers and was a member of Moville Garden Club. She enjoyed many hobbies, including baking, crafting and sewing special felt Christmas stockings for each member of the family.
Survivors include her four children, Beverly (Ross) Iverson of Marshalltown, Iowa, Marlene Wagner of Moville, John Wright and special friend, Vee Cannon of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mary (Craig) Christensen of Fullerton, Neb.; six grandchildren, Brett (Makyla) Iverson, Cort (Rachael) Iverson, Thomas (Lois) Wright, Angela (Jeremy) Fischer, Hanna (Adam) Rasmussen, and Scott (Katie Reisdorff) Christensen; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Goss of Sioux City, and Irene (Ray) Clause of Moville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; five brothers; one sister; and son-in-law, Malcolm Wagner.
Memorials will be distributed at the family's discretion.
