Murna L. Taylor, 84, of Sioux City, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Murna Lee Scholz, the daughter of Alva and Martha (Morsbach) Scholz, was born on April 12, 1934, in Inman, Neb. She attended high school in Inman.
On April 19, 1952, Murna was united in marriage with Donald R. Taylor in O'Neill, Neb. She was a homemaker. Donald died on Dec. 15, 2008.
Murna was very talented with crafting ceramics and had attended a neighborhood ceramic workshop frequently. Murna also enjoyed music, singing, and dancing. She was a member of the Siouxland Country Music Association in South Sioux City. In her younger days, she liked to crochet. Later in life, her activities revolved around her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and visiting with her siblings.
Murna is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Steve) Hoffman of North Sioux City, and Sharon (Jim) Dahlquist of Ames, Iowa; four grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Raasch, Lina Schlichting (Chris Riley), Kristen Graham, and Brionna Dahlquist; 11 great-grandchildren, Jade, Amber, Cole, Kailey, Jaina, Quinton, Zander, Marley, Jaylynn, Maxon, and Tatum; siblings, Jean (Leo) Woeppel of Oakland, Neb., Frances Farewell of Beemer, Neb., Jim Scholz of Caldwell, Idaho, Allene Harmon of Anaconda, Mont., Robert (Shirley) Scholz of Tilden, Neb., and Lyle (Cecilia) Scholz of Meridian, Idaho; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Cheri) Taylor of Renton, Wash.; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Lawrence Scholz; and a sister, Reta Johnson.
