Nan Christina Jordison (Johnson)

SERGEANT BLUFF -- Nan Christina Jordison, 59, of Sergeant Bluff passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at a Sergeant Bluff care facility.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at Southern Hills Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dave Miller officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Louis, Mo. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. until service time today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Nan was born March 23, 1951, in Trona, Calif., to Maynard and Ada (Parker) Johnson. She was raised in the Trona and Banning, Calif., area. She traveled throughout the United States and abroad in her 20s and came to Sergeant Bluff in 1985. She had been a resident ever since.
She attended schooling in Banning, Calif., graduating from high school in 1969. She attended the University of Missouri - Nursing, graduating in 1971. She later attended Florissant Community College in St. Louis from 1981 to 1982 and obtained her RN degree.
She married Richard Jordison on April 15, 1983, in Des Moines. She was a nurse and held nursing licenses in several different states as an LPN and later as a RN until diagnosed with MS in 1991.
She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and was involved in numerous activities. She loved crafting and was an accomplished artist in ceramic arts and oil paints. She enjoyed TV shows, and caring for animals. She had an outgoing smile and sense of humor. She had a great ability to tell jokes and had a great love for the Lord.
Survivors include her husband, Richard R. Jordison of Sergeant Bluff; and her mother, Ada M. Johnson of Sergeant Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be directed to Southern Hills Baptist Church in her name.
