Natalie Barbara Thorp (Priborsky)

Natalie B. Thorp, 96, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Natalie was born on May 31, 1917, in Sioux City, to Ottokar "Otto" Alexander and Aloysia "Louisa" Leocadia (Jurica) Priborsky. She graduated from Central High in 1935, where she excelled in her studies. She was employed at T.S. Martin Department Store as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was united in marriage to Ralph R. Thorp on Feb. 10, 1944, in Corvallis, Ore., during his service in the U.S. Army. Following the war, Ralph was employed as a U.S. Postal clerk. He passed away on Sept. 23, 1992, in Sioux City after 48 years of marriage.
Natalie was a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles among other activities.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Paul (Peggy) Thorp of Sunland, Calif., Julia (Michael) Matuska of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Natalie Wilson of Apopka, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Jason and Jared Thorp, Kristen (Matuska) Sudenga, Stacey (Matuska) Epley, and Russell and Stephen Wilson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; eldest son, Otto R. Thorp; and sister, Louise Bogenrief.
