Nettie Maria Blue (Marrow)

SIOUX CITY -- Nettie Marie "Maria" (Marrow) Blue, 75, of North Platte, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Cozad, Neb.
Private services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City.
Nettie Marie was born Nov. 17, 1933, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Stella (Lott) Marrow. She grew up, attended school and graduated from high school in Sioux City. She worked for Knapp and Spencer and Nutra-Flo.
She married Ralph Blue in September 1990. They made their home in Las Vegas, Nev., where she worked in housing management for the state of Nevada. The couple moved to North Platte, Neb., in late 2008.
She had been a Cub Scout den mother for five years. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, backyard family picnics, vacations, volunteering at church, darts and the lights and gaming of Las Vegas.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Blue of North Platte; six children, Rose Marie King of Sioux City, Roy and Margaret King of Sergeant Bluff, Hope and Jimmy Thomas of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Jay and Kathy King of Le Mars, Iowa, Ted and Diana King of Sioux City and Ray and Carla King of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise and Victor Valieka of Mount Home, Ark.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Michael King and Johnathan Burns; and a brother, William Morrow.
