Norma Jean Clinkenbeard, 83, of Sioux City died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Ring will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at

Norma was born on Sunday, Sept. 6, 1931, in Winner, S.D., the daughter of Verner and Carolyn (Kirschbaum) Gustavson. She was raised in Winner and came to Sioux City as a young woman.
She married Clifford P. Clinkenbeard on Nov. 18, 1953, in Sioux City. He died on Feb. 14, 1989. Norma worked at Zenith until it closed. She later worked at the Horizon Restaurant and then at Timothy's. She retired at the age of 74.
Norma enjoyed playing bingo and going to coffee every morning at the Garden Cafe. She loved collecting purses and clocks.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Ferdig, Steve Ferdig, and Clifford Clinkenbeard Jr., all of Sioux City; five daughters, Lynda Jennings, Barbara Vires, and Charmayne and Milton Van Cleave, all of Sioux City, Candy Robinson of Davenport, Iowa, and Julie Clinkenbeard of Fort Madison, Iowa; stepdaughter, Maryann Morey of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren with one due in September; four great-great-grandchildren; and her special care giver, Penny Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; one sister; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.
