Norma J. Gruis

Norma J. Gruis, 85, died Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City, IA.
A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
Norma Janet Lilly, the daughter of Clark and Gayle (Campbell) Lilly was born October 14, 1931, in Akron, IA. She attended Westfield High School.
On August 7, 1948, Norma was united in marriage with Calvin C. Gruis in Elk Point, SD. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Norma enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the Whistle Stop and spending time with her beloved dog, Cheeky. Calvin died March 18, 2003.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Trobaugh of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Donna Gruis of Steamboat Springs, CO; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; her dog, Cheeky; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Bernie and Barron Gruis; grandson, Brian Gruis; brother, Arnold Lilly; sister, Bernice Wagner; and a son-in-law, Chester Trobaugh.
