Norman Gene Mullen, 88, of Elk Point passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Honoring his wishes, no services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Norman was born in Sioux City on Nov 26, 1926, to Joseph and Grace (Hilbink) Mullen. Norman served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was stationed off the coast of Japan during the attack on Hiroshima.
Norman was a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 33 Union.
Survivors include his wife, Irene of 68 years; daughter, Lisa (David) Johnson; granddaughters, Donna (Brad) Dyer and Teresa (Greg) Richards; stepgranddaughters, Chanda (Nazir) Jesri and Victoria Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren, all of Wichita, Kan.; and sister, Joan Mullen of Georgetown, Calif.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; son, Scott; and brothers, Ray and Pat Mullen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Hospice of Siouxland.
