MOVILLE, Iowa -- Orman Alvin Koehler, 90, of Moville died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.
Orman was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Quimby, Iowa, the son of Johann and Katherina (Soellner) Koehler. As a child, he moved with his family to the Anthon, Iowa area. He attended country school at Grant Township.
He married Delores Keuck on Oct. 5, 1952, in Moville. Together, they made their home and farmed near Moville. He retired from farming in 1980. They moved into Moville in 1983.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Moville Senior Center. He enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and playing hand held games.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Koehler of Moville; a son and his wife, Alan and Kim Koehler of Moville; a daughter and her husband, Lanette and Brian Utesch of Cottage Grove, Minn.; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer and Erwin Koehler; and two sisters, Almeda Cross and Edna Dixon.
