Sioux City - Orval D. Muller, 90, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Muller was born on April 29, 1922, in Stanton County, Neb., to Butch and Pearl (Wenke) Muller. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in the Philippines.
Orval married Ora Wolf on Nov. 26, 1949, in Casper, Wyo. He worked for Mobil Oil in Casper, until 1967. He then moved to Sioux City and worked for Terra Industries when they opened in 1967. He retired from Terra after 16 years in 1983.
Orval enjoyed working in the yard, collected stamps and pennies, and making wine and champagne. He never slowed down and had a hard time sitting still. He and Ora also enjoyed traveling as well, and had driven through 49 states (all but Alaska). He will be known for his quick wit and keen sense of humor. He could do anything he put his mind to.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Muller; two sons, Ken (Dona Prince) Muller, and Dave (Dede) Muller; a daughter, Sandra Frost; a daughter-in-law, Annie Muller; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Larry.
