Sioux City - Patricia E. Beller, 88, Sioux City died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at a Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Squire will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Patricia was born on Aug. 12, 1925, in Sioux City, the daughter of Vernon and Carmen Darwin. She began her education at Bryant Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in 1943.
She was united in marriage to James W. Beller on Oct. 26, 1947, and they were blessed with three children. James died on May 29, 1982. In her younger years, she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone and at the Battery. She then stayed home and raised her three children and later worked in the lunch room at East Middle School until she retired.
Patricia enjoyed their many fishing trips to Minnesota with the family, shopping, playing cards and socializing. She participated in many social events at the nursing home and was a member of the Red Hat Society at the nursing home.
She is survived by three children, Barbara Maloney of Sergeant Bluff, Douglas and his wife, Mary of Sergeant Bluff, and Susan Bach of Sioux City; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, David Bach; parents; her brother, William Darwin; and her sister, Cynthia Campbell.
