SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Patricia A. Hauser-Sandberg, 85, of South Sioux City, formerly Sioux City, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Ave., in Sioux City, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Final resting place will be the mausoleum in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Patricia was born on Nov. 10, 1926, in Sioux City, to William K. and Julia Anne (Riley) Boni. She grew up and attended Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Central High School.
Patricia married Ike Hauser on June 16, 1945, in Sioux City. The couple had six children, Mary Anne, Dan, Bonnie, Ruben, Patsy and Ron. She loved being a mom to her kids. Patricia worked for the Zenith Corporation for 15 years and later the Sioux City Public School System for 10 years before she retired. On Nov. 8, 1992, she married Osborne Sandberg in Sioux City.
During retirement she spent much of her time at the Senior Center taking part in Jolly Timers, Senior Chorus, Golden Agers, and Siouxland Chorus. She also belonged to the Son's of Norway. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Sioux City.
Survivors include her children, Mary Anne and Buster Towns of Sioux City, Dan and Deb Hauser of Sioux City, Bonnie and Garry Comstock of Sioux City, Ruben and Denise Hauser of McCook Lake, S.D., Patsy and Gary Anderson of Sergeant Bluff, and Ron and Priscilla Hauser of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and three on the way; three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a brother-in-law, Don Allaway.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ike Hauser and Osborne Sandberg; two sisters, Joyce Beauchene and Avis Allaway; a brother, Eugene Boni; and two granddaughters, Tara Sue Hauser and Amy Sorenson.
