Sioux City - Patricia A. Mead, 73, of Branson West, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at Branson, Mo.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. James Mead officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery at Moville, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Patricia was born July 18, 1940, in Sioux City, the daughter of Florence Quick. She attended school in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1959.
On April 9, 1961, she married Gerald Mead in Lawton, Iowa, and together they made their home in Sioux City. She was a wife and mother while Gerald drove truck. They moved to Branson in 1993 and in 2012 to Branson West, Mo. While in Missouri, Patricia worked in theater ticket sales and the employment office for social services.
Patricia was a member of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time with her family.
Patricia is survived by her four children, Debbie and Bob Slinkman of Anoka, Minn., Gerald and Rhonda Mead of Salem, S.D., Tammy Mead of Branson West, and Kathy Richardson of Merriam Woods, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Crystal (Ben) Yaekel, Robbie, Amy (Joel) Baxley, Amanda (Daniel) Hughes, Trevor, Heather, and Kelli Mead, Taylor, Matthew Richardson; and three great-grandchildren, Nikki Hughes, Thomas and Robert Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; mother, Florence Quick; and grandmother, Sadie Quick.
