SIOUX CITY -- Patricia Jean "Pat" (Boulden) Sweisberger-Schumaker, 79, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Countryside Senior Living Center following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller (Ret.) officiating. Following the service Friday, the body will be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to

Pat was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Sioux City. She graduated from East High School in 1946. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident.
She married Bill Sweisberger on Nov. 9, 1946, in Sioux City. Bill died Dec. 7, 1980, in Sioux City. She married William Schumaker on Feb. 14, 1987, in Sioux City. He died May 26, 2001, in Sioux City.
She was employed at Zenith Corporation for 14 years. She then worked as a seamstress at Gene Smith Cleaners for two years, then at the Woodbury County Action Agency for two years.
She liked to read and play cards and pool. She enjoyed sewing and embroidering. She worked in her garden and enjoyed being outdoors. She loved football and was an avid Vikings fan. Her family was everything to her. She always had the whole family over for Sunday dinner and every holiday was at her home. She was a great mother and the best grandmother. She will always be loved and missed by her family.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Billy and Kathy Sweisberger, Ken and Kim Sweisberger and Stan and Zaida Sweisberger, all of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren, Mike, Travis, Mark, Nick, Mindy, Sara and Chase Sweisberger, Katie Blake, Robert Montagne and Amber Jenkins; eight great-grandchildren, Chaylee, BreAuna, Justin, Braeden, Trinity, Bryan, BreAnna and Rya; and two brothers, Jack Boulden of Sioux City and Mike Boulden and his wife, Darlene of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Charles W. and Hazel Boulden; her mother died when she was a small child; her sister, Rita Phillips; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Boulden.
