Patricia M. “Patty” Verdin, 57, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.
A memorial service will be held at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, 1801 Morningside Ave., at 11:00 am on Monday, July 19, 2021, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson, SD. Online condolences can be expressed to the family at

Patricia Marie “Patty” Stokely, the daughter of Paul and Shirley (Walin) Stokely was born November 10, 1963, in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from high school in Jefferson, SD in 1982.
Patty was employed as a welder for various companies, including Wilson Trailer, Load King, and FIMCO. Patty had a love of animals, plants and flowers. She loved to draw in her spare time and was a fabulous Cook. Patty was a truly giving person and loved to help people. Her life’s moto was to live life with open arms.
Patty is survived by her partner Tony; children, Michelle (Zachary) Lux of Climbing Hill, IA; Mark (Krimson) Verdin Sioux City, IA; Joe (Amy) Carlson of Sergeant Bluff, IA; Melissa Verdin of Sioux City, IA; Michael Verdin of Sioux City, IA; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Kailobe, Aiden, Brianna, Isabella, Elizabeth, Faith, Scarrlet and Kyrie; siblings, Renee Ann (Nick) Nichols of Highland, IL; Russell Stokely of Vermillion, SD; Mike (Leann) Stokely of Jefferson, SD; Alan (Pamela) Stokely of North Sioux City, SD; Tony (Teri) Stokely of Elk Point, SD; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Randy; and a granddaughter, Alyssa.
