Patrick was born on February 27, 1962, in Denver, Colo., to Mark and Kathryn (Pattee) Kelly. He came to Iowa in 1964 and moved to Park View Homes in 1987. Patrick worked at the Mid-Step Services Work Activity Center for several years before attending the Day Hab program at Southgate.
During his years at Park View, Pat made many friends and won the affection of his caretakers. He spent many summers going to stock car races on Saturday. He also was a regular participant at the Special Olympics. Pat loved collecting many different items, and he loved his radio, magazines and cheeseburgers and fries. He had a great sense of humor, was friendly and would even extend his arm for a handshake from strangers. Pat was loved by many that knew him, and he will be truly missed.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Mike (Bam) Kelly of St. Charles, Mo., Jeff Kelly of Mountain View, Ark., Betty Ann (Chris) Rosfjord of Estherville, Iowa, Tom (Paula) Kelly of Mooresville, N.C., Marikay (Kevin) Kottke of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Ann (Mark) Sampson of Eagle Grove, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the care givers at Park View Homes for all the love and care they have given Pat over the years.
