Patrick Douglas Sachau

Patrick D. Sachau, 52, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at a local hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are with Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Pat was born March 22, 1962, in Sioux City, to Harry and Dolores (Shearer) Sachau. He attended Heelan High School.
He married Debbie Montang on Nov. 20, 1982, in Sioux City.
He was employed at Fenton Construction, where he worked as a project manager and heavy equipment operator. Prior to working for Fenton, he worked for Ho-Chunk Builders. He was the owner and operator of Pat Sachau Excavation, and prior to that he worked for Jack Pinney.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Pat enjoyed riding his Harley, golfing, boating, and playing tricks on his family, friends and fellow employees. Pat cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie of Sioux City; daughters, Christi Sachau (fiance Ron Miller) of Sioux City, and Stacy Sachau of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Ethan, Annalesee, Alyvia, Timothy and Mike; his mother, Dolores Sachau of Sioux City; siblings, Bobbette (Greg) Theroux of Des Moines, Julie (Jerry) Stickrod of Sioux City, Terri (Mark) Avery of McCook Lake, S.D., Sue (Monte) Stusse of Sioux City, Lisa Sachau (special friend Dale Barkley) of Sioux City, Jeff (Rhonda) Sachau of Sioux City, Jill (Pat) Considine of Sioux City, and Rebecca Krohn of Sioux City; mother-in-law, Marilyn Kratz of South Sioux City; father-in-law, Tom (Dottie) Montang of South Sioux City; sisters-in-law, Theresa (Randy) Grove of Dakota City, Pam (Carl) Stolze of South Sioux City, and Cinde Montang (special friend Aaron) of South Sioux City; brother-in-law, Bud (Chancey) Montang of Houston, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry; brother, Tim Sachau; father-in-law, Rex Kratz; and grandparents.
