Patty Lou Sturtevant, 74, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at her residence.
Per her wishes, private graveside services will be held in Logan Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Patty was born in rural Plymouth County, Iowa, on Nov. 19, 1942, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte (Cowell) Thayer. She was united in marriage with Darwin Sturtevant on Oct. 1, 1960, in Sioux City. The couple moved that year to Sioux City. Darwin preceded her in death in 2010.
Patty worked as a clerk for many years for the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs in Sioux City. She was an active member of Glass Street Church of Christ, where she was an active supporter of the missionary field. She collected stamps and matchbooks, and she enjoyed birds.
She is survived by her son, Tom, and his wife, Debbie, of Knob Noster, Mo.; her two grandsons, Tommy Jr. and Tim; along with sisters, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
