Paul Duane Rosenbaum I was born May 28, 1943, to Robert and Sylvia Rosenbaum of South Dakota. He was the first of four brothers, Roy, Rodney and Terry. Paul graduated high school in Elk Point, S.D., in 1962.
He met his wife Dorothy in Fairfield, Iowa, while he was working as a telephone cable splicer and Dorothy was staying there with her sister Sylvia and working. They were married Dec. 14, 1963, at Dorothy's home church in Bigfork, Minn. They moved to Jefferson, S.D., where Paul worked as a welder for North American Manufacturing. Their first daughter, Andrea, was born in Sioux City. They moved to Mound, Minn., where Paul worked for Stainless Steel Manufacturing and their other three children were born, Karla, Paul II and Cheryl.
Paul and Dorothy moved to Longview, Wash., after losing their home in Mound to a house fire. Paul worked at Longview Fiber as a welder, maintenance foreman and fabricator. He remodeled houses and sold them on the side. He had a fabrication and welding shop at each house.
He was an avid vegetable and flower gardener. He rebuilt classic autos, coached youth football and spent plenty of quality time with friends and family. He was an avid Elks club member.
