KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Paul H. Wickstrom, 91, of Sioux City, formerly of Kingsley and Moville, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Countryside Nursing and Rehab. in Sioux City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery.
Paul was born April 28, 1916, on a farm east of Bronson, Iowa, the son of Aksel and Bessie (Day) Wickstrom. He graduated from Bronson High School in 1935.
He married Dorothy Deist on June 10, 1940. Together, they farmed near Holly Springs, Kingsley and Climbing Hill, Iowa, until retiring in 1970. They then moved to Lawton, Iowa, Mountain Home, Ark., and Moville. After Dorothy died on Sept. 18, 1995, he moved to Kingsley. He lived in Kingsley until entering Countryside Nursing and Rehab in February 2006.
He enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
He is survived by three sons and their wives, Douglas and Karla Wickstrom of Hinton, Iowa, Dennis and Lynda Wickstrom of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Stanley and Judy Wickstrom of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Denise and her husband, David Bleeker of Pekin, Ill., Rebecca Wickstrom of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Dusty Wickstrom of Parker, S.D., and Traci Wickstrom and her fiance, Ryan of Sioux City; two great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Fern and Ed Dunn of South Sioux City; two sisters-in-law, Rita Wickstrom of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jackie Wickstrom of California; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Joe, Leonard, Alfred, Glen, Charlotte Johnson and Velma Welty.
