Sioux City - Pearl A.M. McCoy, 96, of Hull, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Pearl was born Feb. 23, 1916 in Vail, Iowa, to Hans and Matilda (Stehlik) Rasmussen. She attended Iowa Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, for two and one-half years. She taught at a rural school for 10 years.
She married Delmar McCoy in Denison, Iowa, on April 4, 1948, and they moved to Sioux City.
She was an active member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church for over 50 years. She loved to tell stories and visit with people. She volunteered in her church's thrift store for many years. She was also a member of Morningside Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki and Scott Fischer of Rock Valley, Iowa; grandsons, Eric and Jill Fischer of Omaha, and Brian and Carya Fischer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a great-grandson, Ethan Fischer of Omaha; and a sister, Vivian Popp of Denison.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
