Peggy Marie Winsor, 63, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at her home.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Russell Senstad will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Peggy was born on Oct. 17, 1951, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Lorna (Johannsen) Winsor. She was raised in the Ricketts, Iowa, area and graduated from Schleswig (Iowa) High School in 1969. Peggy attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She completed the executive secretary program.
Peggy moved to Sioux City and went to work for Irving F. Jensen Co. that later became The Knife River Co. She was a payroll and benefits specialist. Peggy worked for the company for 44 years and recently retired in May 2015.
Peggy was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved reading, flowers and traveling, but what she loved most was spending time with family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Lorna Winsor of Schleswig; two sisters, Marsha Schwartz of Smithville, Mo., and Lori and her husband, Russ Johannsen of Schleswig; four nephews, Adam Schwartz and his wife, Kerrie of Kearney, Neb., Justin Johannsen of Schleswig, Heath Winsor of Ute, Iowa, Calvin Johannsen of Des Moines; and two nieces, Heidi Crawford and her husband, Ryan of Manning, Iowa, and Trisha Fink and her husband, Jay of Arcadia, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Winsor; and brother-in-law, Donnie Schwartz.
