SIOUX CITY -- Ralph Mandicino, age 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Hospice House in Omaha, Neb.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Ralph was laid to rest, for Eternity, Tuesday at a private family service at Saint Pius X Church in Omaha. Arrangements were under the direction of Braman Mortuary in Omaha.
Ralph was born May 30, 1934, in Sioux City to the late Dominic and Rosella (Phillips) Mandicino.
Ralph worked in the auto parts business for most of his adult life, eventually acquiring his own stores, Ralph’s Auto Parts, Avenue Auto Parts and Morningside Auto Parts, located in Sioux City, until retiring due to ill health. He then relocated to Omaha to be close to his family where he enjoyed caring for his garden, flowers and birds. He became an accomplished chef, cooking for his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Edith E. (Orr) Mandicino; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Butch Lundberg of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Kathy and Danny Lethcoe of Omaha; a son, Rodney Mandicino of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Angie (Jerry) Bluhm, Tory (Katie) Lethcoe and Domie Mandicino, all of Omaha, Amy Yeager of Vemillion, S.D., and Ty Lundberg of Kansas City, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany, Zoe, Ella and Austin of Omaha, and Jimmy, Emily and Morgan of Vermillion; a brother, Tommy Mandicino of California; and two sisters, Pat Hedges and Carol Byers, both of California.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family will be forwarded to Hospice House of Omaha.
