Sioux City - Randall Hansel, 60, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at his residence.
Cremation rites will take place. A celebration of life service will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home community room. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
Randall was born on Dec. 6, 1953, in Sioux City, to Leon and Virginia (Schleis) Hansel. He grew up in Morningside. He graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School. He graduated from Briar Cliff University with a degree in business administration and a minor in accounting. He worked at the Star and Tribune Credit Union in Minneapolis for more than 20 years. He worked for Handyman and managed apartments in Sioux City. For the last 10 years of his life, he dedicated himself to his South Sioux City Hy-Vee family, where he worked as an assistant manager.
He enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre. Randall loved his family and his animals.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Lori (Leland Jr.) Littsen of Sioux City; brother, Rick Hansel of Brighton, Colo.; roommate, Bruce Johnson of Sioux City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandnieces and nephews; stepfather, Gilbert Zeiman of Denison, Iowa; and uncles, Leonard "Butts" Langel of Le Mars, Iowa, and Frank (Audrey) Hansel of Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
