Raymond William DeMers  

Ray DeMers, 64, of Sioux City, IA, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. 

A memorial service will be 1:00 pm Monday, June 3, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North, with visitation one hour prior.

Ray was born March 22, 1960, to Raymond and JoAnn (Riley) DeMers. He was born and raised in Sioux City. He attended Sioux City schools and graduated from East High School in 1978. He later attended Western Iowa Tech Community College and obtained an Associate Science Degree in Computer Programming.  

Ray has many joys in his life, some of them include coaching little league, watching Iowa Hawkeyes sports, working on computers, and spending time with his family.  He loved spending summer days at the pool with his grandchildren and family cookouts. 

Survivors include his wife, Audrey DeMers of Sioux City, IA; sisters, Mikki DeMers of Conroe, TX; Teri McCarthy of San Antonio, TX; Lois DeMers of Conroe, TX; Vikki (Al) Clayton of Farmington, MN; sons, Anthony (Amy) Kucera of Omaha, NE; Nolan (Becky) DeMers of Omaha, NE; Lee (Caitlyn) DeMers, Omaha, NE; Dustin (Sarah) Cunningham of Lake Alfred, FL; daughters Jamie (Jason) Patterson of New Martinsville, WV;  Anna (Nick) Prescott of Sioux City, IA; Saundra Cunningham of Sioux City, IA; Jackie Cunningham (Will) of Sioux City, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
 
 He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; mother, JoAnn, sister, Pamela; brothers, Ronald; and Rick, and nephew Brandon Collins.
