Raymond was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Sioux City, to William J. and Bonnie (Glanville) Krager Sr. As a young child, his family moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he attended school and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1950. A few years after graduating, he moved to California where he eventually settled in Santa Ana. While there, he worked in the oil industry for many years before retiring from Exxon Mobil.
He enjoyed music and specifically loved to sing both solo and in various sized groups. He loved to entertain people and his singing ability landed him memberships among some of the most prestigious music groups, including the Pacific Chorale. His singing achievements took him to many other countries, including Israel, various cities in South America, and England. Another notable accomplishment was his appearance at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Raymond returned to Sioux City in 2005 to be closer to his immediate family. Once back in Sioux City, he joined Grace United Methodist Church where he sang with the choir. Most recently he used his talents singing at the Senior Center and at various nursing homes around the area. Raymond will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
