Raymond J. Vandenberg, 75, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponca, Neb. Burial will be in Calvary-South Creek Cemetery, Ponca. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Raymond was born on Nov. 21, 1939, in Hubbard, Neb., to Phil and Marcela (Hoesing) Vandenberg.
He was united in marriage to Annette Sullivan on Feb. 6, 1960. He was employed as a parts manager for a freightliner dealer in Sioux City for 35 years. He then held the same position at Keizer Refrigeration for eight years before retiring.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Annette of Sioux City; children, Richard Vandenberg of South Sioux City, Deb Klaiber of Bow, N.H., and Joan Vandenberg-Meyer of Lee's Summit, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister-in law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
