Raymonde Schmoll
SIOUX CITY -- Raymonde Schmoll, 83, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 31, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m., with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Raymonde was born March 14, 1926, in Clinchy, France, the oldest of eight children. During World War II, she met Otto James Schmoll. They were married on Sept. 24, 1947, in Paris, France. In 1951, the couple and their infant son moved to Sioux City and made it their home.
She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served as a communion steward for 25 years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, fishing and cooking for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children, Ronald (Linda) Schmoll of Sioux City, Patricia (Nick) Hajek of Norfolk, Neb., Terry (John) Curry of Littleton, Colo., and Monique (Jim) Farley of Papillion, Neb.; a sister, Monique of Paris, France; grandchildren, Nicole (Christopher) Margeas of McCook Lake, S.D., Amanda (Erv) Strohbeen of Sioux City, Jessica Plendl and her fiance, Jim McLarty of Minneapolis, Tanya Schmoll of Sioux City, Katie Hajek of Omaha, Sam Hajek of Omaha, Ryan Curry of Littleton, Colo., and Kayla Farley of Papillion; great-grandchildren, Tayvin Schmoll, Tyson Strohbeen, Carson Strohbeen and Ashlyn Strohbeen, all of Sioux City and Charlie Margeas of McCook Lake, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 1984; and a grandson, James Schmoll in 1993.
