Rebecca Sue Finken

Rebecca "Becky" Sue Finken, 61, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 315 Hamilton Blvd. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemeier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Becky was born on Aug. 22, 1953, in Carroll, Iowa, to Richard and Doris (Morlan) Alex. She grew up in Lincoln, Neb., and Spencer, Iowa, before moving to Sioux City in 1972. Becky graduated from high school in Lincoln and then attended the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and Spencer School of Business.
She was united in marriage to Dale Finken on May 3, 1985 in Sergeant Bluff. Becky worked as a customer service rep for MCI for 13 years before retiring in 2005. She had also been employed as a bookkeeper at Preferred Image, Video to Go, Acoustix Entertainment, Sioux Bee Honey, and Adcraft.
Becky was a member of United Methodist Women and helped out with many dinners for them, serving more than 480 turkey meals. She enjoyed playing the accordion, sewing, and liked to bake.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dale of Sioux City; children, Denelle (Tim) Brather of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Steven (Stacy) Finken of Sioux City, and Damon (Angela) Finken of Elk Point, S.D.; her mother Doris Alex of Riverdale, Neb.; sisters, Kathleen (Tim) Erickson of Kearney, Neb., and Kimberly Alex of Riverdale; grandchildren, Sarah, Caleb, Kyle, Austin, Conner, and Elizabeth; nieces and nephews, John (Brittany) Erickson, Jacob (Kait) Erickson, and Beth (Colby) Roach.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Alex.
