Renee Lynn Heisel

August 28, 1964 — September 9, 2019

Renee Lynn Heisel, 55, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away Monday, September, 9th, 2019 at a local Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Iowa on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with visitation with family present one hour prior to the service.

Renee was born August 28th, 1964, in Sioux City, to Cloyd "Pal" and Rosalie (James) Gunn. Renee attended school in Moville, Iowa and South Sioux City, Nebraska. Renee worked as a restorative aide and CNA at Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and at Stream call center.

Renee loved being a caregiver in her career and for her family. Renee aided in raising her niece, Randi Gunn and provided around the clock care for her Father, Cloyd "Pal" Gunn in their home. Renee's hobbies included listening to country music, watching TV, and playing computer games. Renee collected unicorns, minions, and solar dancing figurines. She craved Mountain Dew, sweet tea, and chocolate pudding. Renee loved spending time with family and always expressed interest in the activities of her nieces, nephews, and "grandchildren." Renee had a giving spirit and her family never left her house empty handed, whether it be a cup of coffee, soda, Halloween candy, or a small token of her love.

Survivors include; Brothers; Roger Gunn, South Sioux City, NE, Rick (Michelle) Gunn, Sioux City, IA, Everett (Paula) Gunn, South Sioux City, NE, Tim (Lori) Gunn, Marion, IA, Sister; Judy Salmons, Florida, Aunt; Mary Gunn, Arkansas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friends; Pam Lockling, Kathy Bolles.

She was preceded in death by spouse; Darwin Peterson, spouse; Willy Heisel, Mother; Rosalie Gunn, Father; Cloyd "Pal"Gunn, Brother; Randy Gunn, Nephew; Tony Gunn, maternal and paternal Grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. Special thank you to the nurses and aides, and staff at Continental Springs care facility and to Hospice of Siouxland for the exceptional care and love you showed to Renee and her family.
