Sioux City - Reynold "Rennie" Laferriere, 60, of Sioux City, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Rennie was born June 3, 1952, in Sioux City, the son of Donald and Mary (Abramo) Laferriere. He grew up in Sioux City and attended the public schools.
He married Leona Epperson on June 19, 1983. They made their home in Sioux City.
Rennie worked for Sabre Inc.
Rennie was an ordained minister. He helped many people through difficult times. He enjoyed playing cribbage and cards, especially Texas Hold ’Em.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Laferriere of Sioux City; his sons, Donald Laferriere and Thad (Jannae) Laferriere, all of California; five stepdaughters, Rose Richard of Nevada, Lucille (Terry) Case Sr. of Sioux City, Tina (Dennis) Headed of Sioux City, Mary Reinert of Correctionville, Iowa, and Denise (Todd) Svoboda of Elliott, Iowa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Paula (Dean) Anderson of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Frankie; and a great-granddaughter, Madison.
