Richard B. Anderson, 85, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Morningside Chapel, Christy Smith Funeral Home.
Richard was born July 23, 1927, in Minneapolis, to Aldoph and Elizabeth (Magda) Anderson. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was a member of the VFW.
Richard worked for more than 40 years reupholstering furniture with his company A. Anderson and Sons Upholstering.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was an avid Musketeer fan for more than 30 years. After his retirement he worked part time for McDonald's and Fareway.
Survivors include his children, Russell Anderson of St. Paul, Minn., David (Kelly) Anderson of Sioux City, Diane Anderson of Sioux City, Matthew (Sandy) Anderson of Remsen, Iowa, and Trish Worth of Remsen; grandchildren, Chad (Alyssa), Jake (Becky), Jerod, Jessie, Derek and Caleb; great-grandchildren, Wilsee, Cassie, Max and Kael; sister, Shirley Ruhlemann of Sioux City; nieces, Sandy (Randy) Bricker and Peggy (Allan) Sales; great-niece Kim (Tim) Maxon; great-nephews, Bill Magnuson, Bobby (Janice) Magnuson and John (Irene) Sales; great-great-nieces and -nephews, Anthony Magnuson, Elizabeth Magunson, Garrett Maxon, Brent Maxon, Victoria, Valerie and Vance Magunson; and special friend, Linda Macklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
