Richard "Rich" Davison

Richard Lee Davison, 78, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at his home.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.christysmith.com .

Richard was born December 1, 1944, in Des Moines, IA. The son of Lloyd W. Davison and Virginia Belle (Bone) Davison. The family move to Fort Dodge when he was 5 years old and he graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1963.

Rich joined the US Navy in August 1965. He married the love of his life Priscilla (Patsy) Nelson on April 3, 1966 in Fort Dodge and made their home in Laurel, MD where he was stationed at the National Security Agency and their daughter Stacey was born. Richard and Patsy moved back to Fort Dodge in 1969, then to Sioux City in 1970 where he worked for several financial institutions, Condon Auto Sales, and Budget Motors before retiring in 2009.

Richard and Patsy were avid Hawkeye fans and went to a few football and basketball games with Stacey’s family. Some of his favorite memories were attending Iowa Hawkeye FanFests and meeting the players and coaches in Iowa City.

Richard is survived by a daughter Stacey (Jeff) Lewis of Sioux City and three wonderful grandkids Ashley and Alee of Sioux City, and Alec of Omaha, NE. Patsy and Rich adopted a son Brian of Vacaville, CA and sponsored a foster son, James Shinkle of Sioux City.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years Patsy, his parents, sister Sandra, brother David, and numerous aunts and uncles.
