Richard V. "Dick" Hansen, a long time Sioux City resident, passed away on Feb. 26, 2018 at his home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Dick grew up in Britt, Iowa, where he wrestled and was one of eight children. After his tour of enlistment as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division ended, Dick moved to Sioux City in the 1950s. He had been in the Lather's Union, with the majority of his life spent in commercial construction.
Dick married Nancy Wilson of Sioux City and they were together for more than 50 years, until Nancy preceded him in death in June 2014. Dick and Nancy Hansen were the parents of Bob, Mike and Greg, all of Sioux City.
Dick is survived by brothers, James, Duane, Louie and David.
Dick had a born-again faith in Jesus Christ and is home with him now.
