Richard R. Jordison

May 19, 1950 — February 20, 2015

Richard R. Jordison, 64, of Sergeant Bluff passed away Feb. 20, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Sioux City, with the Revs. Bob Dillman and Dave Miller officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Richard was born on May 19, 1950, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Richard Rhodes and Barbara Ann (May) Jordison. He was retired from Air Traffic Control at the SUX Airport in Sioux City.
He married Brenda Huseman on June 25, 2011, and became a proud husband, father and grandfather.
He enjoyed life, family and people. Telling a new joke every time he saw you was to be expected. Richard enjoyed his grandchildren, they meant everything to him. He enjoyed the yearly Renaissance Fairs and storytelling for the third- and fourth-grade Sunday School class at Southern Hills Baptist Church. He loved gaming, Gen con and e-bay online. Playing Lord of the Rings online every night was a huge joy to him. Reading a good sci-fi book was his greatest pastime.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jordison; stepchildren, Michelle Huseman, Heidi Huseman, Bridget Huseman, and Adam Huseman; 11 grandchildren, all of Sioux City; a half sister, Susan Jones of North Carolina; and a half brother, Allen Jordison of Iowa City, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents.
